A CLUTCH of attractive website addresses, related to Staffin, Portree and Skye, are being offered for sale.
Staffin website designer Nick Wakeham is offering 14 different domain names which might be of interest to accommodation providers or other businesses in the district, or elsewhere on the island.
Nick, who also runs Skye Light Candles, expects names like skyebandb.co.uk and staffinskye.co.uk to spark interest and sell quickly.
“They were purchased for clients who no longer use them,” he explained. “I kept them running just in case someone wanted a new website built. So, I’m putting them up for sale. They are £80 each or, if you want five or more then they drop to £65 each. This is for full ownership of the domains, NOT yearly – once you purchase them, they are yours!
“They can also be used as sub-domains, meaning you keep your website name as it is and then get your web builder to put them up as a sub-domain that links to your normal domain.”
Nick has placed an advert in Thursday’s West Highland Free Press but thought Staffin people might be keen to have a look through the list beforehand.
He added: “I think they will get snatched up very quickly, they are going to be for sale via the WHFP. This is an opportunity to purchase them before that happens.”
