YOUNG people in Trotternish are being urged to provide a creative spark in their own community.
The Highland Youth Arts Hub (HYAH), backed by the national agency Creative Scotland, is seeking entrants for an exciting new project called Creative in Your Community.
It aims to encourage young people to get involved in creative activity and wants to support those aged between 12 and 25-years-old develop their own project, within their own district.They would be supported by experienced figures from the arts world.
A spokeswoman for HYAH said: “This is your chance to take the seed of an idea and with support from professional artist and creative people, turn it into a reality! Maybe you want to have a festival in your village, create a film, organise some workshops or put on a gig – it could be anything really.”
The arts hub wants creative projects ideas from people who show ambition, enthusiasm or talent.
Any project must engage young people in the community and include at least TWO different art forms from drama, dance, music, literature, film, digital arts or visual arts.
Up to £500 will be awarded in a grant for a project idea put forward by one person and up to £1,000 for an idea from a group of more than two people.
