Two new Staffin Biz Directory additions makes it a delightful dozen

TWO well-respected Staffin businesses are the latest additions to join the district’s online business listings this week.

The Staffin Campsite and Kilmartin Restaurant are now featured on the Staffin Business Directory http://staffin-trust.co.uk/staffin-directory which showcases what there is on offer on the east-side of Trotternish. It has steadily grown since its launch and features a range of businesses from shops, places to eat and stay, or to and purchase gifts (and watch them being made) and specific services, such as construction. Their inclusion means there are now 12 Staffin businesses featured.

The campsite at Greincle, run by Ally and Norma Young, has been welcoming visitors from all over the world for 40 years and has undertaken some recent infrastructure improvement to ensure it is looking the best for the current season. It is the only campsite in Staffin and has pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes with excellent modern facilities and a scenic setting looking out to Staffin Bay. Morag MacKenzie has run the popular Kilmartin, which is based at the Staffin Hall complex, for several years now, supported by an efficient and friendly local staff. The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday and has a comprehensive and enticing menu for all times of the day.

The SCT want to help promote all the businesses in the Staffin community and boost the local economy by promoting them online via its popular website. SCT had more than 3,600 page views in the last four weeks and more than 1,000 users.

Fo little over a £1.60 per month (£20 a year) Staffin businesses/services enjoy the exposure of being published on a hugely popular website which attracts hits from an international audience. That nominal fee is used to pay for the domain hosting and website maintenance.

If more businesses join then it encourages visitors and local people to use the website as a one-stop online source of Staffin information.

If anybody is interested in having their business featured, contact Hugh Ross at SCT on 562 464, e-mail staffin.ldo@gmail.com or call in to the office, Monday to Friday.
