A LONG-RUNNING and hugely successful Staffin sale of work – which has raised a staggering amount of money for a cancer charity over the years – will take place early next month.
Cancer Research UK’s Skye branch is hosting the annual event at Staffin Community Hall on Saturday, November 5 from 2pm. All the usual attractions including an auction, Wheel of Fortune and raffle will be held.
It comes as Channel Four hosts its “Stand Up to Cancer” series of programmes this weekend. The sale always attracts a bumper crowd and has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity’s vital work over the years.

Earlier this year, Alastair, who is originally from Brogaig, and his wife, Helen, were awarded the British Empire Medal for their fundraising efforts over the years. The couple accepted the award on behalf of all the people in Skye and Raasay who had supported the charity.
