2017 Staffin arrival for new teacher who is looking for a home
A NEW teacher who has a memorable start to 2017 with a flit to Staffin is seeking accommodation for his young family.
Stephen and wife Helen Atkins and their two sons are moving to Skye next month as he will be taking up a teacher’s post in Portree Primary, which will see him also work at Staffin and other schools on the island, as and when required.
The family are moving up from England and have family connections in Uist and have previously visited Staffin a number of times. They are looking for a hometo accommodate them and their hens, and possibly a dog.
Stephen said: “We are looking ideally for a three-bedroom house based in the Staffin area which we are very keen on, my wife especially wants somewhere handy for the community to be able to make friends easily and get to know folk. It is for myself, my wife and two boys – one who has just turned four-years-old, who will start at the nursery at Staffin Primary School, when we arrive and our youngest who is 21 months.
“We have four small chickens – bantams, and have been offered a well-trained, and placid poodle, which an older lady with fibromyalgia can no longer manage, who we would love to bring up as well.
We would obviously ensure the house was well looked after with regards to the pets. Hopefully this gives you an idea about us and what we are looking for – we are looking at moving up on or around January 14-16.”
